4 Paws Perth Labrador Retriever Rescue 4 Paws is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to finding, permanent homes for unwanted or abandoned Labrador Retrievers. Most of our dogs come to us from owners who can no longer hold the dogs due to marriage split or rental problems and dogs from pounds. Under law Perth pounds are only required to hold dogs for 72 hours. Many pounds do hold dogs much longer than this if they think the dog can be placed or the owners found. If after this time nothing happens they are free to be destroyed. HOW IT WORKS What we do is get an email from the owner or the pound giving a description of the dog and a picture of the dog. We then email everyone on our email list and hope that someone (maybe you!) adopts the dog. If we can't get someone right away we place them in foster homes to buy time. It is your job to then email or call the pound or the person currently caring for the dog. You then need to convince them that you are the best person to adopt the dog. 4 Paws LRR currently serves the Perth metropolitan area however we are desperate to establish chapters in all major Australian cities. If you wish to become a chapter founder for your area then email me at tony@cunninghamsec.com.au Due to our limited number of volunteers, we cannot adopt dogs to people who live outside of this area. We hope that as our volunteer base increases, we will be able to expand the region that we serve. 4
