4 Paws is
a volunteer,
non-profit organization dedicated to finding, permanent
homes for unwanted or abandoned Labrador Retrievers.
Under law Perth pounds are only required to hold dogs for 72
hours. After that they are free to be destroyed. What we do is contact the pounds
and get a picture of the dog. Before the 72 hours is up we email everyone on our email list and hope that someone adopts the dog. If we can't get someone right away we place them in foster homes
to buy time.
4 Paws LRR currently serves the Perth metropolitan area however we are
desperate to establish chapters in all major Australian cities. If
you wish to become a chapter founder for your area then email me at tony@cunninghamsec.com.au
Due to our limited number of volunteers, we cannot adopt dogs
to people who live outside of this area. We hope that as our volunteer
base increases, we will be able to expand the region that we serve.
